July 2010 Newsletter
Next Meeting: Thursday July 15th 2010.
7:30 PM at the Cracked Claw Restaurant in Urbana Md.
EVEREDY SQUARE & SHAB ROW July 10th 2010
The rain tried to shut us down, but we were not afraid and Corvettes arrived to fill the sidewalk in front of Talbot’s, Flights of fancy and the Coffee Co parking lot. Jim Hamilton did yet another great job organizing and coordinating this annual event. Approximately 30 or cars registered with many more stopping or driving by for a look. There was live music, food, free ice cream, shopping and there was a even Bigfoot sighting at the event!

Added summer get together-
On July 1st FCCC members attended a social gathering at Belles’ Restaurant located in the east gate shopping center in Frederick. This was not a club meeting, no business was discussed. But we did eat, drink and shoot the bull. We will do it again on Thursday August 5th at 7:00PM. Belles’ is located across from Beef & Bun’s in Paradise on East Patrick St. Do not worry, we are not scouting for a new meeting location.
The Picnic is coming!
The annual FCCC club picnic is almost here. The date is Sunday, August 15th 2010. The location is the same as last year, the AMVETS Farm located on Rt144 West in Frederick Md.
The picnic will start at 11:00AM and end sometime around 4 or 5 or 6PM. Whenever we run out of stuff or can’t take it anymore.
The picnic has always been and we intend it to continue to free to all 2010 PAID FCCC members and their children at home. The only thing that can affect this is crab prices. But I think there is a sale on BP crabs form the Gulf! Volunteers are needed to help with supplies and set up. The club will reimburse members that pick up supplies.

Web Site-
If you haven’t yet noticed, there are a few broken links at our web site www.fccc.us. I have been attempting to repair the issue, but my knowledge is limited. I believe that when the files were transferred to a new PC, some of them did not make it. I thought I knew where to find them, but nope! Until I figure it out, find the files or get some additional assistance, I moved some of the missing info to the main page. That one still works and now includes the calendar of events and the picture links. I haven’t figured out how to do the application.
Thanks for your patience- not so web master Dave.
Bloomington Gold-
FCCC Ambassador Mike Furman had the opportunity to attend Bloomington Gold 2010. Click the link and see for a slide show with music. Thanks Mike!

Frightening
Experience-
Margie
Love had a nightmare on June 10, 2010. It was particularly terrifying
because she was not asleep—her nightmare happened in real time!
On that night her Grand Sport 947 (GS#947) that she bought brand new in 1996 was, as usual, parked in her driveway behind an older car the Margie intentionally parked in front the GS to act as a deterrent to car theft. She was returning home about 10:00 pm when, as she backed her car into the driveway, she suddenly noticed the headlights of the GS come on as it rammed into the older car. The older car crashed into the car Margie was driving and the Grand Sport headed for her at high speed. The GS swerved at the last moment and sped off down the road. See the full story at-
